My wife died four years ago after 42 years of sharing our lives, good and bad -- altogether a wonderful experience. Because of her long illness, we had lots of time to figure out what we each would do after the other died.
She was going to put my ashes on the mantle, and bitch at me when things went wrong; if I had been around, they might not have been fixed any better than my substitute was doing, but she would feel better.
She encouraged me to grieve for awhile, then start doing things -- including dating. Tom Blake's book was great encouragemernt for me during the 14 months I focused on other things, and then with his encouragement from the book and on his blog, I went onto OKCupid, found a wonderful lady, and we are enjoying life together.
Thanks Tom, and thanks to the 100 people who shared their stories with him. Very encouraging indeed.

interesting reading, easy to spot the helpful tips in each letter, not much legalese, but that's not what this book is supposed to be.
